BETWEEN experience playing at League Of Ireland level and also providing coaching sessions through Mid Cork Coaching, the game of football plays a big role in the life of Macroom native Cormac Buckley Currently playing for Rockmount. Alongside him is Mayfield Native Greg Magner who provides a wealth of experience with UCC & Leeside. The 2 Men have experience coaching at schoolboy level to league of ireland underage level & also coaching in some MSL Senior teams.

Mid Cork Coaching specialise in one on one coaching and group sessions. Popular to most is their Camps as they develop the Players confidence while ensuring they got top class coaching to progress them in their game in gamelike scenarios. Some may not have the goal of being a pro footballer at some point - we cater for those who are just playing purely for Fun too. Hence why Birthday Parties are also popular with us Football is for All!

Other coaches involved with Mid Cork Coaching include Former LOI Underage Players such as Rob Walsh (Cork City & Cobh Ramblers), Eoin Guiney (Cobh Ramblers), Irish amateur international Luke Casey, a talented player who also helped Rockmount to FAI Intermediate Cup glory. Peter Murphy, currently a coach with the FAI, is someone who has been with Cobh Ramblers FC and Cork City FC as a goalkeeping coach.

“Basically it is a coaching clinic. We do everything from one on one sessions, to group sessions, to team sessions, Camps & Parties too!” Buckley describes.

“It is just to give kids a bit more confidence when they go back playing with their clubs. So that is a lot of the reason why they come.

 “Recently we are doing coaches clinics, so you are teaching new coaches how to just have the basics of taking a new group.

“I did my UEFA C Licence 2 years ago. I was involved with Cobh’s U17s helping Dean Buckley out, he asked me in & I am very greatful for that experience.

“I enjoy it. I have coached with Macroom as well before. Mixing between the one on ones and the team sessions, I like that side of the game.

“It is interesting and you get a different perspective from playing, which actually helps my playing as well I suppose.”

Magner Brings a backround in Teaching (PE & Irish) into the mix while also being qualified as a personal trainer. Greg has a proud footballing career also previously winning a National Cup with Leeside, playing with UCC Seniors also for a number of years.

The Mayfield Native alongside Buckley aim to instill Mental Toughness into the football sessions in certain ways to help players in both football and in LIFE!

On top of coaching, Buckley had been playing at League Of Ireland level for the last number of years, including a number of campaigns in the underage section at Cobh Ramblers. Currently he is with Rockmount in the MSL. 

The Macroom man, who also works as a personal trainer & Neuromuscular Therapist alsoin Cork, is ambitious and determined to play at as high a level as possible over the coming months and years ahead. Buckley spent recenty seasons playing for Kerry FC, with his manager former Cork City and Shamrock Rovers winger Billy Dennehy at the time.
